amyjeana.jpg I have been a part of a small discipleship relationship with another girl who has a beautiful heart for learning the Bible and applying it to her life. We often get so excited when we talk of about what we have learned from our weekly workbooks, seeing how God is guiding our lives, and changing us to be the women he wants us to be. With our weekly meetings, I see a consistent change in my attitude and the way my week goes. It is definitely a much better week! I also love that we both have someone we can trust, hold accountable, and pray for when we really need a hand to hold. I hope and pray that others can also experience the same joy, trust and peace that I get from being a part of this small, more intimate type of group setting!

Unlike physical growth, which happens automatically, spiritual growth requires effort and does not come naturally. To help one another grow in Christ we break up into smaller groups for encouragement, accountability or to learn the ‘disciplines’ of the Christian faith.

One of the ways we grow in our walk is through Life Transformation Groups (LTG)  "A LTG is a simple way to help people achieve a vital spiritual walk as they allow Jesus to change their lives from the inside out. It is a grassroots tool for growth which encourages and supports people to follow Christ by internal motivation rather than external pressure. This tool empowers the average Christian to accomplish the incredible responsibility of reproducing spiritual disciples who can in turn reproduce others."

Here is a simple overview of what an LTG is:
• Meet once a week for approximately one hour.
•A group of two to three (the addition of a 4th person is the beginning of a second group).
• The groups are not co-ed.
• No curriculum, workbook, or training involved.
• No leader needed in the group.
• Three tasks are accomplished in an LTG:
     1. Sin is confessed in mutual accountability.
     2. Scripture is read repetitively in context and in community.
     3. Souls are prayed for strategically, specifically, and continuously.

The LTG, when done as laid out, is simple yet powerful. It lives out the values of community, life transformation, and reproduction of disciples.

If you are interested in learning more about this and other methods of spiritual growth, or you just want to get started, we invite you to contact us and we will get you more information or help you get linked up with a mentor who can help you.

There are actually three separate ministries that are under the 'Student Ministries' umbrella.  All three are overseen by Pastor Bernd Heyde who previously had been soley the Youth and Young Adults Pastor until the end of Feb. 2014 when he took over as Senior Pastor.

“Grow up and get a job!”

“When are you going to get married?”

If these are among your least favorite statements, then you’re in good company.Together we want to live life and discover how God makes sense of the chaos.

There's been a desire in my heart to help others for as long as I can remember. This church gives me the opportunity to do that. Me and my friend were able to start a small group with a few other young adults from the church who have quickly become some of my best friends! We meet weekly to discuss the Word and share how we're truly doing. I've really learned that sometimes the best way to care for people is to simply listen to them.

-- Adrienne (testimony from a former young adult leader)

Church isn't about who's in or who's out but a life long conversation with God and others. Unfortunately, church hasn't always remembered that. But Jesus offers us an opportunity to live lives of significance in the context of meaningful relationships.Join us as we step into that conversation and explore what it means to be walking that journey in Beaumont.

Currently, we meet every second Sunday after the service for lunch and we get together for occasional events.

LIFE Groups

Experiencing biblical community is at the heart of our Ministry at Beaumont Community Church (BCC).  One way in which we do this is by being involved in LIFE Groups.  We understand and express community and fellowship with other believers in Jesus Christ in seven distinct ways, identified by an acronym that spells the word…

S.  E.  R.  V.  I.  C.  E.

Spiritually Forming (1 John 1:3-10…Fellowship with God leads to Fellowship with Others.)

As a LIFE Group, we will introduce ways in which we help each other to follow Jesus Christ more faithfully.  We call this a Disciple-making Journey.  This may include ways of both engaging in and evaluating our own growth in Christ using a variety of helpful tools.  We will encourage confession, areas of struggle to one another and set personal goals for our growth in Christ in the year to come.  Throughout the year, we will share our progress and encourage on another monthly in our pursuit of Christ-likeness.  Our primary resources will be the Bible and prayer.

Evangelizing (John 17:20-26…Unity in the Trinity sets the World Free.)

Each household within a LIFE Group will be encouraged to learn to pray for people within their neighbourhoods and at their places of connection to engage them in meaningful conversation.  Some prayer models may be introduced to help guide this effort.  As LIFE Groups we want to be aware of, get to know and pray for those God will add to our number, as we follow him together.  We will encourage accountability to prayerfully consider those God has placed around us.  We desire to find and use our individual and collective voices to “Proclaim the Good News” so that more may believe.

Recreating (Hebrews 3:12-14; 4:9-13…Be and Encourager and Enter in God’s Rest Together.)

LIFE Groups that recreate together will find opportunity for spontaneous and genuine expressions of Christian beliefs, practices and virtues.  Inviting previously unconnected people and pre-believers to these recreational activities can often bridge the gap between isolation and connection.

Volunteering (2 Timothy 1:5-7…Fan into Flame the Gift God has Given You.)

As members of LIFE Groups, we will look for opportunities to support the great Body of Christ as BCC and in our community of Beaumont through involvement in Ministries of the church and also our community.  We will celebrate what God is doing in the greater Body of Christ and beyond.

Intentional Mission (Matthew 28:18-20; Acts 1:8…Make Disciples of Jesus everywhere you go.)

As an expression of our desire to share Christ in our community and beyond, LIFE Groups will seek to support both local and foreign Mission (this might be called our “Global” Mission efforts through increased awareness, commitment to prayer, financial contributions and personal involvement).  These may be coordinated with other LIFE Groups and/or through Outreach Ministry of BCC.

Caring (John 13:34-35…Live our Jesus’ command to love one another as he loves us.)

A foundation of Biblical Community as expressed through LIFE Groups will be our commitment to care for one another.  This will manifest itself in practical for ordinary needs as well as responding to difficult and crisis situations when possible, i.e. hospital or home visits, meal preparation, prayer, and referral to resources.  Careful coordination with our BCC Care Ministry Coordinators and the church office will be essential but not a barrier to care for one another.

Expressing an Everyday LIFE in Christ (Luke 10:25-37…Love your Neighbour compassionately.)

In response to social needs of our community, each LIFE Group is encouraged to be “Good Samaritans”.  Taking the time to respond to others with compassion.

Small Groups

There are other Groups, that offer special topics/themes or bible studies.  These are Small Groups and are offered throughout the year for limited time frames.  We encourage you to consider a LIFE Group but you may also be interested in taking in the themed offering of a Small Group.

comein1Our Sunday morning Worship Service begins at 10:30 am. Come at 10:00 am if you want to share coffee and snacks and meet others.

We typcially begin with a Lectio reading followed by singing songs of praise, prepared by the Praise and Worship Ministry.  The music is prayerfully considered during the week, a mixture of both hymns and newer material.

Following the time of praise we move into a time of prayer, we have a time to share our praise reports or prayer requests.

Afterwards, the kids are dismissed for their children's service. Children's service happens 3 times a month.

This is when the message is shared. We preach through all of scripture, from Genesis to Revelation, on a four-year rotation. The theme follows the Christian Calendar as we flow through the seasons.

After the message, we go through a time of repentenance before we share in Communion. Everyone is welcome to participate. If you have questions about what Communion is, contact Pastor Bernd Heyde This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

After communion, we join together in a few more songs before we are dismissed with prayer and a benediction.

For this coming Sunday's sermon and possible schedule activities click here or to listen to one that you missed see below.

After the service it is common for people to engage in fellowship.  We are intentional about growing together, and have encouraged spontaneous if not planned invites to share lunch with each other.

On the first Sunday of every month we set aside time to engage in the act of bringing our tithes. We then participate in communion in the form of a potluck lunch after the service.

We long for the Spirit to create and maintain a warm, honest, family-oriented environment and invite you to share in that with us!
