Behchoko Missions Trip

From Wednesday, July 06, 2016 -  08:00am
To Friday, July 15, 2016 - 05:00pm

This summer our church is taking a trip to Behchoko NWT to work with children and youth for one week.
Our church has made trips there in the past to support a local pastor, David Shed, and to minister to the community.
This summer will be the beginning of biannual visits to Behchoko and we would love to have you join us. Behchoko
is a First Nations community of just over 2000, located on Great Slave Lake, an hour and a half northwest of Yellowknife.
This community struggles with substance abuse, suicide, violence and neglect, but, in the words of Pastor Shed, “our
community needs are many, but mainly spiritual in nature.” He is thankful to have us join his community for the week
to show the love of Jesus in tangible ways. We will have the opportunity to run programming for children and youth as well
as to put on events and help out with manual labour tasks throughout the town. We will also be there for one Sunday to join
his congregation, our brothers and sisters in Christ, for church.

Dates: July 6-15, 2016
Cost: $500/person
Age: any age but those 14 and under need an adult with them
