KID'S CHURCH:
- Kid's Church is dismissed to go downstairs with their teachers part-way through the service.
- This year we have started a new model of Kid's Church - one that looks a lot more like a church service! Kids will participate in singing songs together (with a musician from the adult team), and hear a Bible story that's related to the Adult Service, though a narrated story, drama or video. They then get into smaller groups to talk about what they are learning and maybe do some crafts. It's fun times all around!

Voice of the Martyrs weekly prayer focus
Each week we will provide you with specific prayer requests from the News Updates on the V.O.M. website.
"The true calling of a Christian is not to do extraordinary things,
but to do ordinary things in an extraordinary way."
A. P. Stanley
A new law may soon allow courts in Kuwait to sentence those convicted of blasphemy to death. Muslims who insult Allah, the Qur'an, Muslim prophets, or Muhammad's wives may receive the death sentence if the bill, which was approved by 40 members of Parliament while only six opposed it, is approved by Kuwait's leader, Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah. Christians and other non-Muslim minorities will be sentenced to a minimum of 10 years for the same offense under the new law. Right now, blasphemy carries a sentence of one year and is defined as slander by Kuwait's penal code.
The amendment was introduced soon after the arrest of a Shiite Muslim accused of cursing Muhammad on the social networking site Twitter. A parliamentarian said that incidents of blasphemy on social networking site are on the rise and the new legislation is "needed to deter them." The increased penalties for blasphemy follows legislation introduced earlier this year to prohibit the construction of churches and other non-Islamic places of worship (for more, click here).
Please pray that Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah will not pass this bill into law. Please also pray that Kuwaiti believers will be emboldened to share the gospel despite threats of persecution. Pray that, despite increasing restrictions, believers will continue to meet together for worship and encouragement (Hebrews 10:23-25).
For more information on persecution in Kuwait, go to the Kuwait Country Report.

PRAYER AND CARE:
If one of you says to them, "Go in peace; keep warm and well fed," but does nothing about their physical needs, what good is it?" James 2:16
As we hold one another in prayer, ask God to open your heart to see and know where you can extend yourself for Him. Perhaps sending a note of encouragement, delivering a meal, making a surprise visit for coffee, offering a few hours of child care to a single parent, or simply a warm embrace. How can you be God's arms of love this week?
- Our church leadership: Pastors, Elders, Ministry Leaders and ministry volunteers.
- Parents who are faced with parenting issues.
- Marriages and relationships.
- Josiah Dyckerhoff as he returns to life in Canada after doing a DTS in Chile for six months (returned March 14th); that he would be prepared mentaly and financially for University in fall, and wouldn't loose sight of ideas, dreams and goals now that he's returned to 'normal' life with the expectations it brings of finding jobs and getting education just to make more money.
- Samantha McQueen as she is in Townsville, Australia working on staff with YWAM. Pray for wisdom in leadership and willingness to work in any ministry; that God would be evident to her and she would be open to what He has planned for her.
- Single parents who are working doubly hard to make things run.
- Young adults, Youth and Kids in the community
- Our community and neighbours; that we would continue to find new ways to reach out and show God's love
- Our Local, National and World Leaders.
- The Persecuted Church (Voice of the Martyrs).
- Pregnancy Care Centre and the Abortion Recovery Centre.
- Mustard Seed Church (homeless individuals, staff, donations, foodbank).
- David & Glenda Shed as they continue God's work in Behchoko, NT.
- River's Edge Camp and their ministry work throughout the year.
- Students in University and College, and kids and youth who are working hard to finish another semester of schooling... and all of their parents too!
